M.Sc. Madlen Kneile

Madlen Kneile is a research assistant and Ph.D. student with a background in industrial design (B.A.) and human-computer interaction (M.Sc.) at the University of Siegen.

Her research combines the fields of sustainability and post-anthropocentric or more-than-human design in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Specifically, she is interested in how the design of technology can change the relation between humans and nature, and what those human-nature relations might look like. Among other things, she investigates how technology needs to be designed to decenter humans and instead stand up for nature and its needs.

Motivated by the power of design to ask questions and envision positive futures, she explores these questions through a design-oriented perspective and way of working to contribute to the urgent challenges of our time.
